I bought the cuisinart coffee maker a month . 5 ago, and have no complaints so far. I use the thing every day.
Time involvement:
I am a college student and part time member of staff who wakes up an alternative time each morning from the week, and I also choose to drink tea sometimes as an alternative to coffee. Mostly I brew coffee every day, but sometimes I prefer to see if I can go all day without a caffeine dependancy, only to find I want to brew a cup late in the evening to finish my day’s tasks. So far, this coffee maker has fit adequately into my irregular java drinking schedule. It brews all several cups in about 5 minutes, and it only takes a few moments to place in some sort of filter, add coffee grounds, brew, then rinse the carafe as well as removable coffee filter container. On days when I’m racing out the threshold, taking the small period of time to prepare my gourmet coffee doesn’t impede my speed.
Taste:
I buy gourmet caffeine, and I find how the coffee comes out tasting great. Sometimes I take my gourmet coffee towards brewer at work–which is often a 12-cup, 2-carafe brewer–and the coffee isn’t nearly of the same quality. Since these are the only brewers I’ve used regularly, I’m not sure if you’ll find any brewers that brew “cleaner, ” but since I don’t notice any unusual tastes within my coffee, I’d say this one is pretty clean. To enhance taste, I use cold drinking water from my Brita filtration systems that filter–I’ve found that impurities in plain tap water are sometimes amplified when heated in coffee brewers. I use paper filtration system now, just because there just weren’t any 4-cup permanent filters at the store when I ordered this, but I hear permanent filters provide even cleaner of the taste.
Speaking of the filtration, I’ve read a few reviews complaints about the filter folding over along with allowing grounds to drain in to the carafe. If this is the one problem, a permanent filter will certainly look after this. However, I have not once had this issue.
Size:
If you have more than one coffee drinker in the home, or you are someone who likes a lot of coffee to get planning, you may need the particular 12 cup brewer. 4 cups are enough for me to work my thermos and sip on right through the day at work or higher education, and if I ever before need more, I prefer a fresh new brew anyway. There’s just something about the taste of reheated gourmet coffee that turns me off of.
Carafe:
The 4-cup carafe is well-built and easy to fill. I saw reviews precisely hard it is to pour without spilling–I haven’t had 1 spill yet. Just make sure you retain the lid from flopping start. If you need for you to, place your thumb close to the hinge when holding it to maintain it closed (when you own this, you should know what i mean). The one complaint I do have about it, though–and it’s minor–is the particular extreme tapered shape. The taper at the top creates a little “shelf” where the previous couple of drops of coffee find caught when pouring, and you almost have to invert the carafe completely the wrong way up to get it away. However, the amount caught with this shelf is very small but not worth inverting to escape. I always rinse my own carafe out after finishing the coffee, and it’s no dilemma to invert the carafe over the sink.
Timer:
At first, I was upset which the “delay brew” feature needed set every night. I was hoping to get a brewer that you turned on once, and it would immediately brew every morning. Now I know precisely why they built this brewer this way. There are times Now i’m just too busy to keep in mind changing the filter in addition to coffee, or I forget to switch the carafe on the particular heated plate after rinsing the item. I’d hate to wake up the next morning and discover twice brewed coffee in my carafe, or worse, all over my counter-top and floor! This feature is a new blessing for busy and scatterbrained people. And since you need to change the coffee and filter each night to have automatic brew your next morning anyway, turning the “delay brew” button on each night isn’t any more associated with an inconvenience.
My brewer sits between my microwave and cooktop, both of which have clocks. I haven’t noticed some time being off on my brewer inside time I’ve had the item, like others have seasoned.
Other:
It’s small, light, and the filter basket comes out in order to rinse it after each brew. I think that’s imperative that you the freshness of your own coffee. I’ve also torn open tea bags and poured the bottom leaves into the coffee filter so i could brew large amounts of tea. This seems to operate great and really maximizes the flavor on the tea, but since tea unsightly stains easier than coffee, I have to pay more attention as i rinse my filter basket and carafe to ensure the tea taste doesn’t linger when I will brew coffee.
Now, this coffee maker appears pretty solid. However, any appliance can split early, and since I’ve only had this coffee maker over a month, I can’t say just how long these things last. But I’ve had no problems so far, and I recommend this coffee machine.
